The Second CBCG Fintech Hackathon: the “Marduk” Team Wins

The second CBCG Fintech Hackathon on the topic “Know Your Customer - Easy and Secure” ended tonight with the ceremonial announcement of the winners.

The team called “Marduk”, consisting of Saša Šćekić, Matija Ratković and Filip Dragović won a 12,000 euros prize provided by the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG). They presented a modular digital solution for user registration that, although primarily intended for the financial market, can be adapted and applied in other industries based on the KYC approach, such as insurance and telecommunications. The winning solution enables the entire user verification process by applying a fully electronic solution for the KYC process.

The “KYCX360” team was awarded a prize of 3,000 euros provided by Mastercard. The second-placed team, consisting of Maša Miladinović, Aleksandra Milić, Heril Muratović, Boris Tuponja and Stefan Janković, designed a solution enabling the bank’s clients to go through the entire registration and verification process in a simple, fast and fully digitised way. Their solution has the potential to be integrated with already existing modules used in the banking operations and thus form a unique integral solution for user registration and sale of their services.

The awards were decided by an international expert jury consisting of the CBCG Vice-Governor Zorica Kalezić, Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia Papuna Lezhava, Director of the IT, Cyber Security and Business Continuity Sector at Addiko Bank Zarija Milić, Director of the Account Management Sector at Mastercard Olga Dedović and Branimir Bukilić from Data Design, a member of ICT Cortex.

On behalf of the organisers, Vice-Governor Kalezić thanked the partner organisations and all participants of the Hackathon, emphasising that the Hackathon achieved its goal and that all the solutions received were of an extremely high level.

“We are all winners today because we have witnessed the successful coping with the challenges brought by the KYC process that will ultimately provide clients with faster and better access to services while ensuring maximum protection of their data privacy,” said Vice-Governor Kalezić.

The second CBCG Fintech Hackathon was organised by the CBCG in cooperation with ICT Cortex and the Association of Montenegrin Banks, aiming to promote and encourage digital banking and payment services innovations. The announcement of the second CBCG Fintech Hackathon’s winner ended the ICT Week in Podgorica.
