Applications for the first CBCG FinTech Hackathon opened


Today, the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) opened the applications for the first CBCG FinTech Hackathon titled “The Future of Digital Banking and Payment Services in Montenegro”, to be held from 22 to 24 October 2021 opened today at the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) at the link. The applications will be open until 15 October 2021.

The CBCG FinTech Hackathon is a forty-eight-hour team competition in creating the best fintech idea, with a special emphasis on digital banking and digital payments. The CBCG organises it with the ICT Cortex and the Association of Montenegrin Banks.

The CBCG invites all those interested to create and report ideas that bring new opportunities in banking and payment services, solve a specific problem or obstacle, and enable savings and higher inclusion for beneficiaries.

From the received applications, the competent jury will select five teams consisting of three to five members. With the support of mentors, the teams will compete for valuable awards. According to the expert jury’s decision, the three teams that present the best ideas will win prizes amounting to 3,000 euros for the 1st prize, 2,000 euros for the 2nd prize, and 1,000 euros for the 3rd prize.

By organising the Hackathon, the CBCG promotes and fosters innovations in digital banking and thus contributes to financial education in digital banking and payment services. The CBCG FinTech Hackathon also aims to promote creative and innovative ideas for applying modern technologies in banking operations, with a special focus on open banking and payment services.
